I... probably shouldn't read too much into the gift Maine got me for Christmas, right? It should just be considered he couldn't get away with not getting me a gift after he got some for everyone else, right?

He got everyone stuffed marine animals. Because of this old movie Finding Nemo and a trip to the aquarium we did with him and Lou...

He got me a clownfish.

So the main character? It's been a while since I saw the film. Hang on, I'm gonna look the plot up.

The overbearing, overprotective parent whose irrational behavior gets those he loves hurt.

And then goes to unbelievable lengths, far out of his comfort zone to fix things, learns from his mistakes, becomes more confident and makes up with the one he hurt.

He almost gets his son and Dory killed.

But he doesn't. And they're all alive, well and happier than they were at the beginning at the end.

It's a holiday tradition for him, for this holiday his people have. Traditions are important. I'd kiss you if we were under the mistletoe. But he backed out. I kissed his cheek instead.

Fair enough. What's the tradition?

It's their winter holiday. Long noodles for a long life. Sweet fruit for a sweet life. Family and unity and all that. I don't know what the kiss was for. He felt awkward about it.

[Except his arms were around Delta, more than once. He... He was so clearly trying to prompt some kind of reaction from Delta.]
